Getting motivated on a Monday morning is quiet hard for most of us specially after we had a fun weekend with the whole family. If only we could just stay in bed for the whole day but your alarm is already calling for you. You are so tempted to hit the snooze button or if you’re like me some times I turned it off and that’s when I’m really in big trouble.
So, to avoid those stressful Monday morning, I develop these habits. It really helped me. I hope it will help you too.
1.) Do not, ever ever (eveeerrrr) touch that snooze button.
What is so motivating about not hitting that snooze button? I know. I know. It’s not the motivation speech that you are waiting for, from me. It’s not even near motivational at all. But hitting that snooze button in your alarm clock is just going to stress you out if you are in a hurry getting ready to work. Being stressed early in the morning because you are running late is not a good start for your week. So no matter what, do not hit that snooze button, no matter how tempting it is.
2.) Open your blinds.
I like opening my blinds as soon as I wake up in the morning. There’s nothing that beats that fresh crisp of the morning sunlight to give me a smile and start my day in a positive vibe. You might think it is not important but you’ll see how of a mood changer it will be when you see the natural beauty of your surrounding.
3.) Make your bed.
Most of us, won’t have time to make the bed in the morning because we lack time but making the bed will clear the atmosphere. It goes hand in hand with opening your blinds. They both open up the clarity of your mind. Because for me, when I am getting ready in the morning and the bed is not made, I don’t feel right. It feels like I am not starting the day right.
4.) Get a cup of coffee.
It’s my personal choice. Coffee in the morning motivates me to start my day.
If you prefer tea, have some tea. You can also try a cup of warm water with lemon. Lemon has a lot of nutritional value and so is water. I do it once in awhile but coffee is really my thing in the morning if I need something done.
5.) Give your children/spouse a hug
I am a mommy so I enjoy those cute little hands around me. They sure boast my motivation a gazillion percent.
If you don’t have children or spouse, greet the people that you meet on the way to work. They sure can use your positivity on a Monday morning.
Motivation doesn’t have to stop in you, it could start from you.
Have a good Monday! 🙂
